When a relationship ends, it can be 'messy noisy and leave some casualties'.

No matter how hard it is to overcome an ex-lover, this is a point you need to get to as soon as you can.

Failure to accept the end of a relationship may leave one bitter, depressed, and even seeking revenge.

Yesterday, a man lost his life in Kikuyu, after an ex-lover bumped into him with the lady he was dating.

Such cases have become rampant in Kenya.

But how do you get over your ex?

1. Get rid of things that remind you of him/her.

You can get rid of gifts that were bought by your ex. If not disposable, you can donate some.

Ever heard of a woman who set a Mercedes Benz bought by her ex on fire? Yeah, it may get to this point for one to shed off such memories. Well, I cant set a Mercedes on fire! lol!

2. Get off social media for some time.

Many times, we have seen celebrities unfollow each other after a relationship collapses. Sounds immature, but this really helps to get over someone.

3. Resist the urge to contact them.

Once you call it quits, keep off your ex. You might, later on, become friends, but a little break will help you to get over it.

However, this is inapplicable if you had children.

4. Get distractions.

Dedicate the time you used to spend with your ex for a vacation or night out with friends.

If you used to hang out together during weekends, dedicate them for salon visits.

5. Be open to new relationships.

Well, this doesn't have to happen immediately, but let yourself feel loved again.

The easiest way to get over someone is to get their replacement.
