Jalango has said losing his dad on the same day he landed a radio job is something he is yet to come to terms with.

The death of his dad devastated him because of how hard his dad had struggled to educate him.

Jalango's dad did odd jobs among them taking photos.

Speaking during an interview with Lynn Ngugi, Jalango narrated:

"There is a day Churchill told us that there was a chance at Kiss FM, so he asked us to try our luck.

We went for trials and there were thousands of people.

While queuing a lady came and asked people who had degrees to queue on one side.

I went to the line with people with degrees even though I knew I did not even proceed to the university.

I was like what will happen if I didn't have a degree?

There were many people so when it was my turn I told them I did not have the papers they wanted but I was the person they were looking for."

Luckily for Jalango, he was given a chance to show what he could do and he succeeds to land the job.

"We did trials and on the last day, Larry Asego and I were picked. The same day I got the job is the same day my dad died.

I have never gotten used to his death, I have never made peace with it. That is why I took one week before I started to go bury my dad."

Adding, "I did not start on the radio I was just on the corridors.

Larry would call me and we would 'chapa' story like I was so far. With time people started asking for me to be brought to the studio.

One day I was finally given a chance to be on Kiss FM, Larry Asego went to Classic and I had to work with Caroline Mutoko."

Jalang'o worked there for years before leaving Radio Africa Group. He made a comeback a year ago and he currently co-hosts the biggest breakfast show on TV with Kamene Goro.
