Diamond Platnumz recently astounded fans when he revealed that he charges $70,000 dollars(Ksh 7 million) for a live performance.

In Kenya, the only musicians who can probably come close to the amount that Diamond makes per show are the boy band, Sauti Sol.

They are rumoured to make about Sh800,000 for an ordinary concert although the amount differs depending on client and distance.

For events outside the country, they are said to charge between Sh3 million and Sh5 million, this is before factoring other demands they might have on the rate card.

Although the figures for Sauti Sol and Diamond are impressive, they pale in comparison to what global megastars can make per show(Yes, this includes the lucrative private shows that take place for oil Sheikhs in the Middle East!).
