A police office based at Kanga Police Post in Samia Sub-county in Busia has killed his wife before committing suicide.

Confining the incident, the Sub-county Police Commander, Winnie Siele, said that Edwin Muhula, is reported to have killed Viola Clare Auma, at around 4.00 am on Thursday over an unknown issue.

She described the late Muhula as a good officer who related and worked well with his colleagues and did not consume alcohol.

The commander stated that the bodies have been moved to ‘Same Day classmates Mortuary’ in Sega, Siaya County.

The duo has left behind an eight months old baby girl and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have launched investigations to establish the cause of the incident.
