Woman arrested after allegedly sending gang to kill her husband

• The body of the deceased was found by villagers yesterday morning lying about 700 meters from his house with three deep cuts at the head.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested for the murder of her husband following a domestic quarrel that turned tragic at Pala Masogo village, KothidhaLocation in Homa Bay Town constituency.            

The woman, identified as Jane Ondiek was held for colluding with unknown persons to kill her 60-year-old husband, Isaack Ondiek Okulo.

Preliminary reports indicated that goons allegedly hired the wife hacked the deceased to death using an axe on Monday night.            

The body of the deceased was found by villagers yesterday morning lying about 700 meters from his house with three deep cuts at the head. They later raised an alarm to the local administration.            

The area chief John Omamo reported that Isaack sustained serious injuries on the head and neck after he was hacked with an axe by unknown persons.            

He added that the death came as a result of domestic wrangles between the deceased and his wife.          

The administrator further said the information which they had gathered from the community unveiled that Jane could have planned the murder due to constant wangles between them.            

He stated that Jane, sometimes back, the woman tried to poison the husband using a certain youth in the area who refused to be involved in the crime and later confided to the residents about the woman’s plans to eliminate her husband.            

The woman is being detained at Homa Bay police station for further interrogation as the deceased’s body was taken to Homa Bay mortuary awaiting postmortem.
