Kiss FM radio host Jalango is appealing for help on behalf of a Kenyan family that recently lost their daughter to cancer.

Sheila Ngei was battling stage 4, breast cancer that had spread to her CNS and parts of her liver.

In an Instagram post, Jalango said he feels sad he wasn't able to help as he only saw the many tags when it was too late.

''@istandwithsheila story is such a sad one...so I got tagged to help fundraise through @jalango_foundation and maybe because of the many tags and DMs I didn't get to see it.

When I finally get to see the post my brother @rodgers_kipembe had been tagged too so I call him and he says give me two days I am in the village for a family function when I come back we will do something.

Two days later Sheila had passed on!

Sheila did put up a brave fight against cancer, she lost the battle, check the page @istandwithsheila, and know why we must now give her a good send-off! Please let's help the family clear the hospital bills. Details on the poster.

In an interview with Switch TV, Michelle Ngei the big sister to the late Sheila said the cancer diagnosis caught them by surprise.

They had just been at home when Sheila started having trouble breathing.

'We were at home when she started having shortness of breath so I took her to Nairobi women's Kitengela.

The doctors carried out a biopsy test whose results were inconclusive and an MRI test.

One and a half weeks later she collapsed and we had to call an ambulance and take her to Nairobi Women's hurligham.''

In March 2020 it was confirmed that Sheila had cancer. She fought till her last breath.

May she rest in peace.
