'He was caught licking my dead sister's blood in the morgue,' brother speaks out

The family was outside waiting for postmortem results

• The man tried to bribe one of the morgue attendants but he refused and raised alarm and he was arrested.

Yesterday evening, a man walked into Homabay County Referal Mortuary and asked to be shown a body of his dead kin.

Instead he started licking the blood of a school teacher who was shot on Tuesday night at her home.

The teacher identified as Clinice Atieno Ojenge was killed in her home in Gem East Location during an attack in which her 9-year-old daughter also suffered bullet wounds

Rangwe Sub County Police Commander Joseph Okuna confirmed the incident saying that the criminals confronted and fired three bullets into the 40-year-old teacher adding that the motive of the murder was yet to be established.

"He was caught licking my late sister's blood at the morgue. My late sister's husband and other family members were waiting outside for the postmortem results at the time," Wycliffe Onyango told Mpasho.co.ke.

"The man tried to bribe one of the morgue attendants but he refused and raised alarm and he was arrested. People wanted to lynch him. The child who survived the night time attack where the mother was shot dead, identified the man as one of the killers."

Onyango added:

"I can't explain why he was licking her blood, I really can't explain. I suspect maybe he is one of the guys who shot my sister. They did not steal anything, the money was there so was her phone, the mission was to eliminate her and also kill the kids but one of the kids escaped unhurt and the other one is stable and being treated in hospital."

The man was arrested and is currently at Homabay police station.

Here are the details of the first crime where the teacher was shot.
