Gospel artiste Ruth Matete now says being a celebrity or a public figure is a calling that only a few people can survive.

This is because of the constant trolling and criticism and people thinking they have an opinion about everything you do in life.

Through her social media, Ruth penned

Wah! I am beginning to think that being a "celebrity" Or public figure is a calling.

I mean, you really must have a thick skin. Folks gon' say so much about you. They will judge. They will criticize. They will expect you to be somebody they have envisioned in their heads. Failure to be what they want you to be, will have you trolled and labelled "bad, proud, greedy, rude" etc etc.

I have said this before and I'll say it again. If you are working towards becoming a celebrity, please know that you will always be in the spotlight. And as such, you need to be ready for the heat that comes with the spotlight. Count the cost before you embark on that journey.

Matete went on to advice

Having said that, please be yourself. One,because everybody else is taken. And two, because there is somebody somewhere who loves you just as you are and thinks you are so amazing. Pretending to be somebody else, will attract fake lovers. Being you, will attract real and genuine lovers.🥰🥰

Also, those of you doing karate in my inbox (hi, hae, hey, ) how am I supposed to respond? Wouldn't it be easier to just go straight to the point? 😂

Don't call me, sijiskii vizuri🤣.
