The daughter of Kiru High School Principal has pleaded with the court to forgive her mother Jane Muthoni for killing their dad.

In a virtual court hearing on Tuesday, June Mbuthi asked the court to have mercy on her since they do not have a parent to rely on if she is jailed.

"We all want justice for my father. He was my best friend but the absence of my parents has been so hard for my siblings and I for the past 5 years. We request the court to have mercy on my mum," she said.

According to June, the past five years have been difficult for them since they had to rel on friends and relatives while their mum was in remand.

"I know it can't be undone but we don't have anyone we can fully rely on. All that time, we have been depending on third parties like relatives and friends," she testified.

Jane Muthoni, a former school principal was found guilty of murdering her husband, whose body was found in a coffee plantation in 2016.

The deceased, Solomon Mbuthi Mwangi was the Principal of Kiru Boys High school.

Following the plea by June Muthoni the sentencing was defered to June 3, 2021.
