Jahmby Koikai has advised Kenyans to take the covid-19 issue seriously as its aftermath is way more serious than most people want to believe .

According to Jahmby, some effects of Covid-19 are long lasting thus its time people masked up and maintained social distance.

Through her social media platform she shared

The elephant in the room has been the entertainment industry and events. We have seen gigs going on like there ain't no pandemic. No masks, no social distance, all in the guise of Covid19 and MOH protocols being 'observed'

To me, this was irresponsible and extremely dangerous. A couple of deejays called me up for gigs and I flatly declined.

I've battled a long fight with Thoracic Endometriosis which attacked my lungs and diaphragm. I was in intensive care for a long time by myself and my God.

Losing oxygen has to be the most traumatic experience.

I'm grateful I had the care needed. Due to the nature of the disease, which has similar symptoms to Covid19, I still deal with musculoskeletal issues.

This past week saw me in hospital going for checks and tests because once the lungs are hit by any type of disease, recovery may take years.

Jahmby further added

'Unfortunately, most of us have no health insurance neither does insurance cover Covid19. As you make a choice to attend these parties, remember there are people like me still recovering years on.

Covid19 is no exception and is even deadlier. There will be parties tonight dubbed, 'The Last' or some sort of theme.

Make sure it's not your last. Go home and stay safe. There are virtual concerts you can enjoy. Time for physical events will be back. We are better alive than dead. We've lost too many people to be this reckless.

Hospital bills are way above reach for most of us and I reiterate that recovery from any type of prevalent lung disease is long and hard.

Her advise

'Wear your masks, stay safe, maintain social distance and wash your hands.'
