In the morning of January 17, 2020 at B Club, just as the night was winding down, DJ Evolve was shot in the neck at point blank range by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.

The flashbacks from that fateful day to date haunt DJ Evolve.

The mother who is his primary caretaker said during the interview that the shooting left her in alot of pain.

“Due to the pain (in my heart), I cannot talk. I just talk to my God. My son’s life has been destroyed. (I hope to get) justice for my kid. Only that,” she says.

In a past interview Babu Owino said,

"It is a matter that is between me and God and I chose to forgive myself, we cannot change the past but we can change the future, let us focus on what is coming in the foreseeable future.

Adding,

"Let us not dwell so much in our past cause we can't change it, no matter how we would want to."
