Gladys Kamande came into the spotlight in December last year when a photo of a street kid praying for her while she was stuck in traffic went viral. Kamande was blind and confined to a wheelchair for seven good years and was forced to carry around an oxygen cylinder for survival.

This saw Kenyans come together and contribute towards Kamande's medical kitty. Kamande left for India where she was treated and came back in March this year. She took to social media to thank Kenyans for helping her.

MLITUSAIDIA NA PESA ZENU NA HATA MAOMBI. KWA SAA HII MACHO YANGU INAONA. NIMEKAA 7 YEARS BILA KUONA. NILIENDA NA NIKATIBIWA INDIA NA SASA NINAONA. KWA SASA NIKO SAWA NINAONA. MUNGU AMENISAIDIA. NIMESHUKURU SANA KWA WALE WOTE MUMENISAIDIA KWA MAOMBI NA FEDHA. MUNGU AWABARIKI."

Kenyans had contribute Ksh 9.3m and Kamande used Ksh 5.3m on her all treatment leaving a balance of Ksh 4m.

But a month ago, Gladys and activist Ndungu Nyoro  who was at the forefront of fundraising for her cause were tussling over the remaining amount. According to sources, Kamande was demanding for the balance - many claimed that she wanted to use the funds buy a piece of land  (buroti maguta maguta).

This back and forth turned ugly leaving Kenyans with more questions than answers but finally the matter was settled.

Well, Kamande has been sharing beautiful photos of herself on social media and its evident that she is happy. She took to Facebook to thank God for healing her and here is what she wrote;

'Ndiui undu ungi noatiri ndironaga nariu.nidirona Ngai guguturira matuku makwa mothe" (loosely translated to; sijui kitu ingine but sasa ninaona. Mungu nitakusifu siku zangu zote)

Kamande added another post which was attracted more than 150 likes.
