A 24-year-old undergraduate female student, who was studying Information Technology at South Eastern University in Kitui committed suicide yesterday.

Her body was found hanging from a rope tied to the rafter of her rented house in Kitui's rural.

In a note that was left behind by the student, she said that life had become unbearable, hence the decision for her action. In the note, which she addressed to her dad, she wrote:

Dear mum and dad, [I am] sorry I had to do this. I love you guys so much, but I can’t take it any longer. Life has become unbearable. I cannot live like this anymore.

Cases of depressed people committing suicide have been rampant of late. On Friday, another woman killed herself after posting suicide notes online.
