A video of a man having a drink in a club and later falling unconscious has gone viral.

The poster of the clip wrote on the YouTube description section,

"The incident happened on 8th November 2019. The man, who's twitter handle is @dr_maingi (RIP) had been in controversy in weeks past at the centre of mainstream news. He is the subject in a feature that aired recently dubbed Man Down that puts everything into perspective!"

That is a clip that is part of a mockumentary shot by filmmaker Warle Maina for his film, Man Down.

It centres around the turbulent life of a former Chief Government Pathologist from Machakos County, Dr. Paul Maingi.

He was the focus of leading news in the local media in the recent weeks and is the center of the investigative feature that aired recently dubbed, #ManDown!

Dr. Maingi had been the main suspect in a domestic brawl with his estranged wife of 8 years, Rita Wangui, a stay at home mother of one. Rita, previously a Senior Manager at multinational Peterson & Drake, had a successful career life before resigning for the noble task of raising their firstborn child.

It is believed that in this period, things started going sour. One evening, in this seemingly perfect relationship, something went awfully wrong, catching the eye of the nation.

In the week of October 13th 2019, Rita Wangui was admitted at Machakos Level 5 hospital with soft tissue injuries and deep cuts on her hands and head, believed to have been inflicted by her now late husband.

With strong rising opinions on social media, Dr. Maingi found himself in a crisis; everything seemed to be set up against him. However, in a strange turn of events, as the main suspect, he was acquitted of all charges, a scenario that saw uproar from not just Rita’s family but also the general public.

They say the truth isn’t always a straight line and if you look close enough, even the most ordinary life becomes a mystery.

The movie has been nominated for the Machakos film festival 2019.
