Kenyans were excited when a road was named after football darling Victor Wanyama.

After all that, they saying,

“KILA JAMBO LINAUTARATIBU WAKE HATA UKITAKA KUBADILISHA JINA LA BARABARA LAZIMA UFUATE UTARATIBU KWA HIYO HAKUKUWA NA UTARATIBU ULIOFUATWA UNAJUA ILIKUWA HARAKA SANA, LAKINI NISEME TUU KWAMBA HILI LITAFANIKIWA NA MTAA HUO UTATUMIKA KWA JINA HILO WAKIFUATA TARATIBU.”

Hata waking'oa road sign, that doesn't make our Lion Of Muthurwa any less of a SIMBA. He is still the King of East African football.

Wapende wasipende.

Larry Madowo, the ex-Trend TV show host, went in on Tanzanian officials and Kenyan government after the whole fiasco of having the road sign up and then having it taken down days later.

He wrote on his weekly column on Nation:

"That is surprising because a citation accompanying the naming of the road was signed by two senior officials of Ubungo Municipality, Aman Sizya and Yahaya Rashidi. Either way, the irony was not lost on anybody that Tanzania was honouring a Kenyan superstar before his home country had done anything."

He added: "As I have said before in this column, Wanyama is one of the hardest working and driven people I have ever met. He is also a passionate supporter of football talent and has done a lot for the community that raised him. He is exactly the kind of man to spend his birthday playing and sharing a meal with disadvantaged children at the Thunder Football Academy in Kawangware."
