Larry Madowo has been an ever-present presence in the television landscape. He is well-known for his stint as the presenter of the trend. During that period he was a news anchor on NTV and also wrote a weekly column for the Nation newspaper.
In all these ventures he has had immense success but things seem to be going awry for the well-spoken news presenter. Rumours started circulating that all was not well at the media giant when it was alleged that Larry had been disappointed by the lack of cover offered to one of his colleague who had been threatened by William Ruto’s spokesman David Mugonyi. Cracks had started to show.
This past week he revealed that he had an article he wrote for the column rejected by the NTV bosses. The column he had written was called First Row and he had been writing it for 4 years.
This was not taken kindly by the journalist who said as much on his social media. But when we thought things were going to settle down. He subsequently sent the article to CNN and it was published on their website.
The breaking news is that his direct superior Linus Kaikai has been poached by Citizen TV. This and the tweet he posted yesterday are ominous signs for the Aga-Khan owned conglomerate. In his tweet yesterday he said that he would forthwith terminate his contract to write for the newspaper.
