ODM has rejected Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu's list of owners of a company allegedly involved in the Lang'ata playground land grabbing attempt.

Secretary General Ababu Namwamba said the list was a decoy to hoodwink the public and asked Ngilu to name the true culprits.

Ababu was reading a statement during a press conference at Orange House on Thursday.

The CS named four people as the directors of Airport View Housing Company on Thursday, under pressure from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

They are Mandip Singh Amrit, Madat Singh Amrit, Harban Singh Amrit and Kamal Singh Amrit.

“We demand that Hon Ngilu lifts the veil and reveals the name behind the names. In fact, the Cabinet Secretary did say there is indeed a name behind the names.

"We want to know the Mwangis, Onyangos, Wafulas and the araps responsible for this Lang’ata land saga, and who are now hiding behind the facade of Singhs,” Ababu said.

He said the delayed reluctance to intervene by relevant state agencies and the massive deployment of police during the Monday protest implicate people in "high places".

Ababu added that Ngilu's naming is a continuation of racial, tribal and religious profiling, which he said has been a feature of the Jubilee administration during crises.

“It follows a tradition in this country of the powerful hiding behind the Singhs and Shahs as the face of the illegal and the bad deals, while real culprits go scot-free. We reject the move," he stated.

Ababu said ODM believes that Weston hotel stands on public land, and wants the property repossessed and all the structures on it demolished.

The party has also demanded that the Lands ministry and the National Lands Commission address the alleged grabbing of land in and around Wilson Airport.
