The official music video for “Lamba Lolo” by Rap group Ethic is currently not on YouTube. Why? Popular media personality ‘Teleh Mani’ might have the answer to that.
According to him the move was occasioned by a disagreement between the popular group and himself. Ethic’s music manager Mwakitele Kitawi, popularly known as ‘Teleh Mani’ of HYPE Entertainment spoke to edaily and told them:
The matter is headed to the courts as we have already drafted our papers so I am not in a position to say much about it until it comes to an end. But if they perform any of those songs at any concert then it would only further complicate the issue for them.
The situation started back in August when Teleh went on a Twitter storm, detailing what he had gone through at the hands of the group, which is made up of members Zilla, Seska, Rekless and Swat.
Teleh explained how he met them after they blew up and offered to help build their brand and market them. He even explained that he had paid for recording sessions, cab transport and music videos.
Teleh says that greed got the better of the group. But after the ruckus the group and their manager re-united after Ethic apologised for their behaviour.
But it seems that that truce was short-lived as Teleh added to edaily:
They apologized and we took them back in. They, however, messed up again and that is why we are where we are today. I cannot say in what way that is, exactly, because like I have said it is a court matter now.
We tried to reach the group’s manager Emmanuel for comment but our calls went unanswered.
