The body of Queen of Ohangla Lady Maureen has left Ojele memorial hospital mortuary for burial at Kopanga in Suna West, Migori county.

The Wagni Wabiro singer passed away last week at her cousin’s place in Uriri, Migori county.

The 36-year-old fell sick in 2018 and since then she has been in and out of the hospital seeking medical treatment.

Her mother, Margret Atieno said the singer had been discharged from Pastor Machage Hospital, which was the last center she was admitted in during her three year battle with sickness.

“SHE WAS BEDRIDDEN FOR THE PAST YEAR, BEFORE SHE DEPARTED. WE ARE STILL IN SHOCK SHE WAS THE FAMILY PILLAR,” SHE SAID.

Giving details about the burial of Lady Maureen Ohangala, Maestro Osogo Owinyo said

'She will be buried in her family home at Kopanga village along border of Kenya and Tanzania, in Suna West constituency.'

They have also contacted the police to help them enforce social distancing as set by the government due to Covid-19.

May she rest in peace and may her fans continue enjoying her music despite her demise.
