Did you know Kenya has one of the best disciplined forces in the world? Their training is topnotch with the best of the pedigree even receiving further training in places like Israel.

They then come back and train their peers and subordinates further improving them. Therein lies the problem I guess.

"What happens when a well trained member of the disciplined forces goes rogue?"

Police are only coming to terms with the fact that they are now faced with this nightmarish reality after finding out that one of Kenya's most infamous thug, popularly known as Mwanii, is the very embodiment of this problem.

A cop who spoke to Standard on condition of anonymity said that Police in Nairobi have profiled Mwanii. And according to him, Mwanii once served in the General Service Unit (GSU) and has friends who are still serving in the force and who keep him up-to-date with police operations that is why he has elusively escaped police traps.

And just how do these daring criminals get their weapons? They kill police officers. Take the case of Administration Police Constable, Kennedy Nkune, attached to a State House Administrative Secretary, who was shot by criminals before they stole his Ceska Pistol loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition.

And why is Mwanii so important? Because his hot wifey got gunned down.
