KTN, NTV AND CITIZEN have had their temporary digital broadcast infrastructure license withdrawn by the CAK.

The CAK describes as "offensive" adverts that the three media houses have been running cautioning the public against other vendors selling set top boxes.

CAK Director General Francis Wangusi said the ads were offensive and in gross violation of legal provisions on competition.

"The tone of the advertisements, its content and timing is intended to cause confusion and disrupt the migration programme," Wangusi said at CAK offices.

He said consumers have a right to purchase approved set top boxes from any registered vendor without the influence of the "misleading" ads.

The three media houses will also not be allowed to clear their set top boxes when they arrive as the models have not been approved by the CAK.
