Bob Munro the Director and owner of Mathare United has decided to call it quits on KPL just days after he had a rather public and humiliating spat with Sam Nyaweya, the FKF president who claimed that Bob Munro had reneged on his promise to pay him back for a loan he had given him of 3million.The move which caught KPL officials flat-footed, is considered a severe blow to the Kenya Premier League as Bob Munro was a powerhouse within the organization -he was a member of the executive and rules and competitions committee.

Jack Oguda, the chief executive of KPL confirmed the resignation saying,

"We have received his letter of resignation and he cites the need to concentrate on his club as the main reason for this decision. He feels Mathare United need more of his attention at this time."

But there are alot of dissenting views to the account given by Jack Ogunda as sources in football body said the following,

"Munro feels no one in the KPL had supported him when he needed it the most."

Personally, I do not really give a squirt of piss about any of this because I still hold true to my earlier assertions that Kenyan football is a joke and we should instead concentrate on sports that actually yield results such as rugby, athletics and women's volleyball.

And I dare say Kenyan football will continue to be a joke riddle with fragile egos and supremacy battles until someone grows a pair and cleans house. I doubt the current crop of leadership at either FKF or KPL have the stones to do so.
