Vera Sidika is causing ripples on social media after she shared a photo of herself looking like a black barbie and we are impressed.

Following the photo was a caption below asking people not to let their past define them.

Never be defined by your past...it was just a lesson, not a life sentence.

Black don’t crack

In the past, Vera had openly talked about her lightening procedure bragging that it cost her Ksh 50 million.

Bridget Achieng also admitted to having coughed up millions to lighten her skin, a decision she does not regret.

the last time I checked it was close to 3 Million Kshs or so. It’s part of my life. You have to accept and sit down and decide you wanna do this. You don’t just wake up and decide you wanna do a skin tan.”

According to her, she did this because she never felt pretty enough while growing up since her parents never took the time to appreciate her.

From when I was a kid I never felt beautiful because African parents never tell you that you are beautiful. I never felt loved as a kid, I will be honest. So I thought if I do it I would feel beautiful…I don’t regret anything and the attention it comes with it keeps me going.

Vera could have photoshopped the dark skin tone onto her photo to get your tongues wagging.

She managed to do that.
