Koffi Olomide has been barred from performing at Zambia after allegedly assaulting a cameraman.
The Rhumba singer says Zambia is his second home and has pleaded for permission to perform there before he dies. The French embassy in Zambia says he should be arrested immediately he lands there, over several allegations.
He was supposed to have two concerts in Zambia.
The 62-year old has previously been involved in a couple of assaults. He has reportedly assaulted his dancers, kidnapping and employing them in France without permit.
He was deported from Kenya in 2016 for physically assaulting his female dancer at the JKIA. Later, The Ekotite singer sent a one-minute video message pleading with Kenyans to pardon him following a public altercation.
In his message – which aired on Churchill Show – Koffi said he is just a human being adding that issuing the apology was the boldest thing he has ever done in his life.
“My brothers my sisters of Kenya this is Koffi. Through Churchill show, I wanted to say hi to you and send you a message of love, of respect, of friendship. I’m sorry for what happened last time and my prayer is you forgive me for what happened. I’m only a human being despite being the superstar Koffi Olomide,” he stated.
