The 2020 Kisima Music & Film Awards is audacious, deep and progressive. Focus will be the use of digital nomination platforms and with a focus on Social Good to lead from the front in the wake of the global Corona Virus Pandemic.

The process of picking the winners will be participatory and transparent.

The event is making a come-back after a hiatus of seven years during which the awards have been re-energized and revamped to cover the continent and include the film category too.

The chairman of the awards said during the Gala night on December 13, 2020 African artists would be awarded in 18 categories-nine each in music and film.

A further 18 awards have been specifically created for Kenya in both music and film.

Dr Simiyu said; “We intend to bring together African artists; thespians and creative musicians; professionals representing the entire chain of the Film and Music industry and infuse Pan Africanism thus offering to global players the opportunity to interact with the authenticity of Africa’s best artistic culture.”

He said as organisers of the event, Kisima Music & Film Awards was thinking big and acting broad. This year’s awards will be the biggest and most glamorous in the entertainment industry on the continent.
