The bold gay has revealed that his new catch is Nigerian and they are set to walk down the aisle early next year. He further gave the details of their wedding and says it will be held in South Africa, their new home.
“I asked my love for his hand in marriage two weeks ago. He said yes, nearly immediately. He is Nigerian. We will be living in South Africa, where he will be studying next year. We will get married there, early next year. We will have a reception for Kenyans in Nairobi sometime next year too. Nothing has surprised me more than coming to love this person, who is gentle and has the most gorgeous heart. I consider myself hugely lucky that he loves me and I have only recently fallen in love with him, but we have known each other and have been dating on and off since 2012,” he tweeted.
Binyavanga Wainaina also revealed that he’s so excited after he popped the powerful words “Will You Marry Me” to his lover and he agreed.
“I knelt down and asked my love for his hand in marriage two weeks ago. He said YES. We will be married in South Africa early next year. I am beside myself with excitement that he has agreed to spend the rest of his life with me.”
He also said that there will be a party for Nigerians as well.
“I am sure we will have a party for Nigerians later next year.”
Could Binyavanga’s new lover be Nigeria’s self-proclaimed gay Bobrisky? Well, let’s not speculate and wait for Binyavanga to conceal his identity.

In 2016, Binyavanga Wainaina took to social media o revealed that he wasn’t coming back to Kenya, claiming the country doesn’t have “big dreams for its human beings”.
“I am finally, not coming home to Kenya to live after my stay in Germany in April. I will continue to live in South Africa. That is a country with big dreams for all its human beings. Kenya would rather see me dead, than live and love.”
The popular author went ham on Kwani Trust after the board refused to fund his trip to South Africa to be with his lover.
“The board of Kwani have no idea how that breaks my heart they are all too Kenyan. The institution I founded with so much energy and me part ways because in the final analysis, they were not keen for the way I have chosen to love.
“The board. Two weeks ago, I sent a letter to my doctor. I said to her I would like to see a psychiatrist. I was being pressurized quite intensely by Chimamanda Adichie and somebody who shall remain anonymous.
I HAVE FALLEN OUT WITH MY WHOLE FAMILY. I EVEN WROTE MY WILL SINCE I KNOW I CAN DIE ANYTIME. WHEN I ASKED THE BOARD OF KWANI TO FUND A TRIP TO SOUTH AFRICA, THEY KNOW NOT ABOUT MY DEPRESSION, BUT THEY KNEW THAT THERE IS NOTHING DOCTORS CAN DO ANYMORE. I CAN. DIE. ANYTIME. TO DENY ME TIME WITH MY BOYFRIEND, I CAN ONLY SAY THEY WANT ME DEAD OR THEY DO NOT WANT HOMOSEXUAL ME HOOKING UP.
I have resigned from the board, and will not use the fund for any reason at all. Ever. I have sent them today by email a letter from my psychiatrist. I went to see him yesterday after the news that I will not be seeing the man I love. I was in tears for three days. Yesterday I had to get somebody to take me for the appointment. I hate hate hate that kind of cheap moralizing by the board. His conclusion: major depressive disorder. He gave me antidepressants,” he explained.
