Singer Chemutai Sage is a very private person. She keeps her personal life airtight and under lock and key. Only her close friends and family know intimate details about her.

It was a surprise therefore for me to come across an interview Sage did talking about loosing her virginity.

Sage hit the headlines when it was reported that she is heavy with child for fellow Kenyan artiste and rapper King Kaka. They two kept their issues off the press and worked out an amicable co-parenting plan bila drama.

In the interview she was asked if King Kaka provides child support for their daughter.

"I don't want to talk about it. I just don't want to talk about my personal life,"

Sage did an interview with Drum where she responded to a number of contentious issues like her kids photos being leaked to blogs, the age at which she lost her virginity and what success means to her.

Asked about her kids photos making their way to blogs, Sage said,

"I have no idea. I did not do it."

Sage was brave enough to reveal she lost her virginity at the age of 23.

"Yes, I was. I feel like many kids these days lose their virginity in their teens. I was being candid when I said I lost mine at 23. Also, it was  a way of saying, 'Yes, you can wait'. I wish I lost it at 30. To be honest, I wish I had waited until marriage."
