Rapper King Kaka never had the best of relationships with his father and he regrets for not forgiving him before he died. According to him, he has always found it difficult to speak about his frosty relations with his old man. Why? Because it's personal for him.

He chose to talk about the hostility between him and his departed dad, after he released a new song titled Papa where he featured music group Elani. The song talks about King Kaka’s relationship with his father.

“Papa for me is personal. Since I started my music career I have never really spoken about my father. He passed away before I could forgive him and it haunts me to this day. I am now a father and I would not want to have the same relationship I had with my father to trickle down to my kids. I am not perfect but I will try my best to be a better father to them," says king kaka.

He adds that the song is a celebration soundtrack to all fathers.

He says: "For a very long time, the society has not really celebrated fathers and the contribution they make in their children’s lives. In a lead up to the release of this song, I did a campaign called #ILOVEMYPAPA that received a huge outpouring of responses from people talking about the impact their fathers had on their lives. Some were good some were bad.”

Papa was produced by Cedo and the video was directed by Young Wallace.
