Ugandan veteran singer Joseph Mayanja popularly known as Jose Chameleone and his entire family are mourning the demise of his father-in-law, Fr. John Scalabrini who passed away on earlier this week after a long battle with cancer.

Fr. John of Bbiina Church who is his wife's (Daniela Atim) foster father was known to have transformed a lot of lives in Luzira, Uganda and other surrounding areas. He is said to have lived an inspirational life, built schools, a hospital and even a football stadium in Uganda.

The late is remembered for rescuing Jose Chameleon from Tanzania sometimes back when he was involved in an accident that almost left him dead. He sent a helicopter to Tanzania to transport Chameleone back home for treatment.

He passed on at 82 years old.

Jose Chameleone took to social media to share the sad news with his followers and here is what he wrote.

"Rest In Peace Father and Friend.

May the Almighty God have mercy on you as he strengthens us all. We shall always remember and pray for you.

Thank you so much for love and care you shared with all of us. You gave all your life to us

Rest In Peace Father Giovanni Scalabrini."

The late will be laid to rest today at Bbiina Parish. Here is the funeral programme.

Chameleone also lost his younger brother  AK47 last year. Our prayers are with him and his family during this difficult time.
