Celebrated comedian James Chanji, popularly known as Mshamba, is in mourning following the sudden demise of his mother.

Although details are still scanty, some sources indicate that she died last week after a long battle with an undisclosed illness.

The comedian is currently in Busia County as his family makes arrangements to give her a decent send off over the weekend.

For those not in the know, Mshamba is a local comic who has had a career spanning more than 18 years.

He has featured in shows like "Tru Kalas," "Kenya Kona," "Redykyulas," and for the past two years he has been on a comedy show dubbed Mshamba on KTN.
