A world renowned comedian is in mourning following the untimely passing of his mother in the wee hours of Monday October 3rd.

Bright Okpocha, popularly known by his stage name Basket Mouth, broke the sad news of her death on his Instagram page saying he is experiencing the deepest pain he's ever felt.

This is what he posted.

“Last night my angel left me, my first love stopped breathing and it’s the deepest pain I’ve ever felt. I love you for every sacrifice you made to make me the man I am today, I’ve loved you through the tough times. I’ve loved you through happier days and all I can say at this point is that I will love you forever. I will miss you, mummy.”

Condolence messages have been streaming in from all corners of the world. Among those who paid tribute to his mother - Ifeanyi Nwoko - is Ugandan comic Anne Kansiime who said the news very shocking and asked God to comfort his family.

"RIP mother! Can't even begin to imagine I know what @BasketMouth is going through.

We pray the Lord truly comforts you and your family. Really saddening," SHE POSTED.

Basket Mouth has had his fair share of losses this year. The death of his mother comes less than one month after his family was robbed at gunpoint in their home in Lekki, Lagos but fortunately, no life was lost. The incident took place on September 7, 2016.
