Death is so cruel. One family of 22-year-old Malvin Eshitera, are in utter shock over his death. Death truly is a puzzle. A puzzle that remains to be unraveled.

Malvin, a diehard Arsenal FC fan and a second year Bachelors of Information Technology student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology died under unclear circumstances after an alleged quarrel with friends.

The disagreement is said to have happened at the private hostels near JKUAT in Juja. According to the hostel’s watchman who spoke to Malvin’s family, the deceased was visited by friends who brutally attacked him, leaving him for dead.

Benson Eshitera, a brother to the deceased, said that after the brutal attack, Malvin was taken to Kenyatta National Hospital by the police after they had been called in. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the medical facility.

Recounting the circumstances surrounding his brother's tragic death, Benson said that Malvin had earlier on been caught up in a disagreement with his friends over a girl, but had not reported any threats on his life.

“His phone had text messages from an ex-girlfriend over a bitter break up but there were no threat messages,” said Benson.

The deceased’s brother added that results from a postmortem had been concealed from the family and the only information provided by the mortuary was that their kin had severe bleeding.

However, the police have dismissed claims of an existing love triangle and have accused the deceased of robbery.

According to Kiambu County Commander James Mugera, the student was attacked after he had stolen a TV. Five suspects have been arrested in connection with Malvin's death.
