Yesterday, Kibra MP Ken Okoth made a courtesy call to Kenya Ambassador to France Prof. Judi Wakhungu.

"He updated us on many issues including his impressive education projects and his plans for increasing them to reach many students. He is also keen to use Sports Diplomacy to expand his students’ horizons," Prof Wakhungu tweeted.

She then shared photos from the meeting.

The Kibra MP has been battling colorectal cancer, he is currently receiving treatment in France.

In a past Interview, Okoth revealed: “The fear of the unknown that accompanies a cancer diagnosis is immense. Cancer changes your life completely."

Now, Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, has pledged to sponsor a few Kibra residents to visit their MP.

On his Facebook page, Sonko announced, "I shall be willing to sponsor and lead a delegation of pastors, immams and a few Kibra constituents to visit him in France and pray for our beloved Mp. Get Well Soon Bro. Just continue believing in God."

Sonko also added his voice to the ongoing debate on the cancer scourge.

"Cancer is really hitting us hard. The most important thing in illness is never to lose heart. However as a nation, it's a high time we think of having a permanent solution of dealing with this serious disease," he added.
