'I learnt of my BET nomination through a tag by a friend,' - Khaligraph

BET nominee Khaligraph Jones has said he did not know about the nomination until a friend notified him of the exciting news.

Jones has been nominated for the 2020 BET awards for the best International flow.

He is the other African apart from Nasty C, from South Africa to be nominated for the prestigious award.

Speaking during an interview On Kiss FM with Kamene Goro and Jalas, he said,

'I was excited and didn't know I had been nominated until a friend tagged me on a BET post.

I checked and realized it's true. With time and effort, I have been putting such results are expected.

I am always very optimistic in most of my songs, I talk of God's miracles that might happen in the future.'

Jones added,

'I had shared some tweets some years back on things I hope to achieve and people laughed about it.

But here we are, Trust the process. I am grateful to God for where I am today.'

Jones had said that contrary to the expectations of his fans they won't be able to vote for him.

'Thank Y’all for the Overwhelming Support Y’all showing Me cause of My BET nomination🙏🏾🙏🏾To everybody who is Asking how they can Vote, Unfortunately,You can't.

The Winner will be Picked based on The amount of work they have been putting in.

We are optimistic because honestly.

I don’t see Anyone who has outworked me on the list 🤣🤣 but No matter the Outcome.

We are generally Happy Because East African Hip Hop is Starting to get The Shine it deserves, Kenyan Hip Hop To the World 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The OG shall Be Respected.'
