Kenya's Great Marathoner Rita Jeptoo To Face A Two Year Ban After Failing Doping Test

Dozens of Kenyan athletes have  failed doping tests in the recent past and end up being suspended for two or more years. The three-time winner of the Boston Marathon and two-time winner in Chicago Rita Jeptoo has shocked many after the drug test B sample tested positive.

The 33 year-old Kenyan is one of the highest profile Kenyan athletes to fail a doping test and has been suspended.Jeptoo’s B sample was tested at a World Anti Doping Agency accredited laboratory in Lausanne, Switzerland in her presence on Friday.

She is now expected to attend an Athletics Kenya constituted hearing in January 2015.The two-time winner of the Boston and Chicago marathon in 2013, 2014 was managed by Italian Frederica Rosa, who also handled Kisorio before his positive test. Government officials have blamed the growing amount of cases on foreign agents and Athletics Kenya's failure to educate it.
