In the African culture, when there is a guest coming, you put on a show. I do not mean one of the theatrical nature, I mean that you get ready to entertain them. The compound gets cleaned with even more care than normally goes into the choreAnd what of the food? Well, that is something even more special. Think back to when you were a child and your parents had visitors. That was when you would get a break from the monotony and tyranny of githeri.

And that is what we are seeing as Kenya prepares to host the "leader of the free world" (I couldn't help sneering as I said that) Barrack Obama for what is officially said to be the entirety of a day.

And just how much will this day visit cost? a whopping 34 million. And before you begin running your mouth, 34 million isn't chicken fodder bwana. Especially since this is all for a visitor who will spend a day -or less in the country.
