William Ruto is the most excellent and wonderful deputy president that this country has ever had (BTW, we have only had one).

The leader when not generously developing our churches also engages his critics. And there are those who don't see the good things he has been doing as our immeasurable DP.

On Sunday this week, the politician made a faux pax when he quoted a non-existent Bible verse. Ruto quoted Matthew 6:35 while the verse he actually quoted was Matthew 6:33 as that particular chapter ends at verse 34!

Kenyans were quick to catch on. Some of their pithy comments from Twitter are below:

Kenya West: Forget quoting a nonexistent bible verse, my greatest concern is how the church allows the pulpit to be used in trading political insults. Isn’t there a line that must not be crossed. Insulting inside a church? Jameni

Olda: Even the devil quotes the Bible. Quoting means nothing ....doing what it advocates for means everything! End of conversation. New conversation

Wahinya Charlie™: When the Lord decides to humiliate you 😂😂😂🙌

vivian mukeni: Hata kama ni wewe.Someone saying hautakuwa kwa ballot paper and you badly want it tooth and nail inaezafanya uchanganyikiwe hadi usahau verse

Babu Njeule: Cramming is tough, my people.

TheRealOligarch 😎: That bible verse was there, nani aliiba?

Dave Were: ....and then the congregation clapped in unison and said Amen. Religion kwisha!

Bernard agutu: Crammed it overnight then mixed up the verses. Should juz Stick to reading insults.

Jaro: Looks like Daktari has been misquoted. Itumbi will dispatch the correct version shortly 😂😂😂😂

Dan Nandili: How does one go to the extent of quoting an inexistent verse in a church jameni....thats only allowed in bars 😁😁😁 after a few tots

Mashy_Rosemary: 😅😅😅 Tuseme ilikua hasira

Kairu David ™: ‏Nani ame grab hiyo verse.

BKenya: We are used to Ruto quoting non existing projects: dams, stadia

standard deviation: Still looking for mathew 6:35.iko rift valley ama Mt.kenya.On my way to Canaan..🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

Is the reaction he received fair or should our glorious DP never ever make a mistake?
