The Ministry of Interior Coordination has released a statement saying that there was an attempted Al Shabaab attack at Yumbis Village in Garissa last Thursday evening. The villagers had spotted the gunmen in the areas and promptly notified the security forces on the ground.
This led to a gun battle between the forces and the militants. The forces ultimately thwarted the attack but that hasn't stopped Kenyans from complaining on Twitter.
