A few days ago, I stumbled upon a Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie quote. It really touched me. It's a stamp. A real account of what being an African is. Resonates with my story of how I was treated by young people who are from Kenya but once they started living in the UK, they embraced racism, fake accents, fake belonging and lots of other shameful, stereotypical ideologies. It happened in the last 48 hours. I was cyberbullied because I am African and the insults were based on my skin color.

Well, in the video, that the people abroad have on Africans. She debunks them.

“I recently spoke at a university where a student told me it was such a shame that Nigerian men were physical abusers like the father character in my novel. I told him that I had recently read a novel called American Psycho, and that it was a shame that young Americans were serial murderers.”

In a hilarious video which has been making viral rounds around the Internet, a young Kenyan girl who has experienced the same stuff like I did. She talks about how she got raised in England (UK) and hence doesn't know any Swahili language. However, it turns out to be prank-style sarcasm that explores the stereotype of Africans not being proud in their ethnicities. The video has been discussed on African media, including This Is Africa.
