Willy Paul, who has been promoting the song, took to social media to gush about it and he wrote:

Love is a beautiful thing, if they talk nonsense..... tell them that God is Love n love is the greatest commandment!!! #njiwa

His followers have called him out, claiming his music is no longer gospel. Some have even questioned him on whether he's still a gospel artiste or now a secular singer. Reactions include:

Anitagole: l think nowadays you don't sing gospel

Gidikimar: Njiwa and God are two different things

Zahra Yvonne Akinyi: Is Willy a gospel artist cause I swear this guy confuses us ...n who brings CONFUSION again?? I mean what does the bible say?

Geoffrey Shakur: There is no gospel in Kenya these days because the secular music artists are camouflaging in the gospel industry since the messages in some songs can not transform the life of one who's lost in the world to Jesus Christ. For instance; jigi jigi, njiwa, salama to name but a few all these are lovespel and NOT gospels at all. NB: staki kuargue na mwenye ako misled with such songs!!

Enrique Livia: If I may ask who are you specifically???what nonsense is this, or hizi ndizo nyimbo za injili??can you just stop playing two sides,,,kama ni bongo imba bongo stop mixing!

Clinsman Muchuma: Nowadays we do things for money. Willy uko tu sawa. Business minded

Sc Sean Nicolous: There is nothing gospel in that song

Jeff Hogan Barake Willy paul u are going down musically

Brian Levi: Kindly go back to singing for the Lord and winning souls to Christ. All these other things are vanity. What will it profit to gain the whole world but lose your own soul

Just recently, Willy Paul revealed that he became a houseboy following the death of his father.

'From nothing to something, from being a houseboy to being an international star.. God is good and real!! I suffered a lot in the hands of man!! Let God be God,' he wrote on social media.

This is not the first time Willy Paul's song is receiving backlash. Last year, he was trolled after releasing Tiga Wana, featuring Size 8.
