Eldoret's new queen in the town, Mercy Atis has narrated how Kenyan embassy abandoned her when she was thrown out of America like a street dog.

“After I was arrested, I tried calling the Kenyan Embassy and the moment I told them that I had been arrested they told me to call them the next day. I did and the narrative started the same being; ‘we will follow up’. At the end, nothing happened and I found my self behind the bars,” Mercy revealed.

Even after five years behind the bar, the Kalenjin queen was surprised to hear she will be deported.

“After my jail term ended, I was taken to the county jail head of immigration. I tried calling the Kenyan embassy but again they never answered my calls and to my surprise, they even authorized my deportation back to Kenya.”

Once Mercy realized that she was to be deported she decided to go on hunger strike for two months.

“After trying all means, now I decided to go on a hunger strike and try and see if someone can now give me their attention. To my shock, after two months of hunger strike, the Kenyan embassy still authorized my deportation back in Kenya. It was an awful experience given the fact that they deported me back to the country while naked and in hospital attire.”

Mercy’s awful experiences finally landed her in Matter Hospital where she received her medical attention till she recovered fully.
