'Kenyan woman with coronavirus is from Ongata Rongai,' Government confirms

The Ministry of Health has finally revealed that the Kenyan woman whose Coronavirus tests turned positive is from Ongata Rongai.

Although her identity is yet to be made public a rapid response team has been sent to Ongata Rongai where the lady with coronavirus hails from.

"We have embarked on a contract tracing for all persons who have been in contact with her," CS Mutahi Kagwe said.

Further adding,

"We have sent a rapid response team to Ongata Rongai area where she lives for that purpose. There should be no panic."

She arrived in Kenya on the 5th/03/2020. She came from the US via London.

Speaking during a presser Health CS MUtahi Kagwe said,

'THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH HAS CONFIRMED THE FIRST CORONA VIRUS CASE IN KENYA. 

IT WAS CONFIRMED ON 12/03/2020. THE FIRST SINCE THE OUTBREAK IN CHINA. 

THE CASE IS THAT OF A KENYAN CITIZEN TRAVELLING BACK HOME FROM US VIA LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM

AS FAR AS CORONA VIRUS IS CONFIRMED IT WAS QUESTION OF WHEN IT WOULD SPREAD.’

Mutahi added,

‘HER TEMPERATURE HAS GONE DOWN, SHE IS EATING AND SHE IS BACK TO NORMAL BUT SHE CANNOT BE RELEASED AT THE MOMENT.’
