Life is not easy especially if you live far away from home. There has always been a misconception that Kenyans who live and work overseas earn a lot of money and never run out of cash. However as many of them confess, that's not always the case; they too struggle to make ends meet.

Recently, a Kenyan woman working in Qatar took to Facebook to blast those at home who keep asking her for money to go enjoy themselves while she works hard. The woman, Maureen Wanjiku, uploaded a video on her Facebook page complaining about friends and family back home with this annoying habit. She further revealed that it is these same people who spread rumors that Kenyan women in the Gulf work as prostitutes.

Maureen says that since she started working in Qatar, she has become the darling of many back home. Everyone now refers to her using sweet names like "bae", "mrembo", "msupa" yet when she was still in Kenya, no one wanted to be associated with her. Maureen was clearly trying to pass the point across that life outside there is not as smooth as people think.
