Masongaleni Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Mr John Kilonzo was found dead on Sunday evening in a hotel room in Mtito Andei Town.

According to area District Administration Police Commander (DAPC) Mr Albert Hama, Kilonzo was found dead by an attendant of the lodge who had gone to service the rooms at around 5pm.

According to the police, the attendant found the room booked by the politician was inaccessible and raised an alarm. Police were called in when the door was broken down and the body of the deceased found.

“At this stage, we cannot tell for sure what has caused his death.” - area DAPC Mr Albert Hama said: 

The District Administration Police Commander also added that the police were “not taking chances” in investigating what caused Mr John Kilonzo's death.
