Marian Awuor Adumbo, a nurse working at Rachuonyo Sub County Hospital has died of Covid-19 complications leaving behind a one week old baby.
She had been admitted at Homabay County Hospital with flu-like symptoms in pregnancy, where she tested negative for Covid-19.
She developed breathing complications and was transferred to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital where another test was done and the result was positive for COVID-19.
Further tests for Covid-19 were done with the latest result coming out last Thursday turning negative.
Marian gave birth to a baby boy while still on treatment.
She had continued to receive high dependency care including oxygen augmentation.
Unfortunately her condition worsened, and she passed away from COVID-19 Complications leaving behind her baby who is slightly over a week old.
May her soul rest in peace. Her death comes days after Ken Ouko a sociology professor at UoN succumbed to Covid-19.
Weeks ago Kenya also lost it's first Doctor, Adisa Lugaliki after she succumbed to the same.
Other fatalities included Kenyan thespian Charles Bukeko also known as Papa Shirandula.
