The business of pimping is not new, especially in the Kenyan entertainment industry, and a Kenyan model has come out clean to say that indeed she does pimping. So what's pimping?

According to the Urban Dictionary, it is "to strongly promote and support a certain thing." In this context, it is acting as a link between girls who are hungry for money and rich men who want escorts, a lady to spend a weekend with or even more than that.

The model in this question is Soila Cole, a former video vixen who is now a self-proclaimed "model trainer" casually asks, "doesn't pimping happen every day?"

This was in an interview with Pulse, where she clarified that "being an escort girl can mean many things depending on what a client is looking for." For her, this is business as usual as "a girl gets like Sh. 15,000 a day. The cash grows more depending on the client, distance and nature of the deal."

In the same feature, she said that the likes of Vera Sidika began their careers as video vixens, before venturing into this big money industry of pimping. She also alluded to Bridget Achieng of Nairobi Diaries confessing to be a pimp. What's your take on pimping? Let me know on @harunmomanyi on both Twitter and Instagram.
