A few days ago, Ann Mbaru, a former BBA contestant revealed that she was nearly raped in a taxi. In the news and in the dailies, not a day goes by without a story on rape or defilement.

Charles Mathenge defiled a mentally ill 15-year-old in Kasarani and was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment 3 years later. Paul Gicheri, a 52-year-old Swahili Teacher defiled another 15-year-old and molested six other girls from Njoro Girls.

Age is just a number for these rapists. Girls as young as six months old to women as old as 90 have not been looked over. Such cases speak volumes concerning Kenyan men. Where does the problem lie? Is their libido too high? Are they not getting enough satisfaction from their homes? Is it a psychological problem or are Kenyan men simply rapists?
