Known as the home of talent, East Africa; Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania has produced many popular musicians such as Diamond Platnumz, Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, Jaguar, Radio and Weasel among others but the problem is, Kenyans never support their own. They would rather spend thousands just to attend Diamond's or Chameleon's show than attend Jaguar's or Prezzo's show.

This year, we have heard many musicians from across the world performing in Kenya and i must admit the shows were well attended. Kenyans tend to like musicians outside our country and when it comes to local musicians, they rarely show up. Recently, Nigerian born star Davido's concert in Uganda flopped with only a handful attending compared to Abba's (Chameleon's son) concert which saw thousands attend in his home town Uganda. Njambi Koikai's reggae concert also flopped.

Most Ugandan musicians get support from local fans e.g when you check some of their social media accounts, they happen to have more than 10 million followers unlike Kenyan musicians who struggle to get support from the local fans. This is the reason why i like our neighbours, they are always in support of local talent.
