Kenya has seen the rise and sometimes fall of its comedians. With the comedic realm shifting towards more digital platforms and the realm seeming less financially viable, eminent from the burgeoning cases of misfortune for comedians. Here are legendary acts we haven’t heard from in a while.

Kajairo

Kenyan comic legend Kajairo famed for his antics with Redykyulass has been off the grid for some time.

The comedian who’s among the first comedians famed for music parodies seemed to have slowed down pursuing his comedic gift.

Kajairo, a few years back refuted claims that he had gone broke and moved back home with his mom.

The comedian unsuccessfully ran for the Embakasi East seat MP in 2017.

In 2019, he revealed to Radio Jambo that he is an adept businessman, something which he has been doing off the limelight.

Kajairo has made a few appearances on Churchill show, his last coming about two years ago.

Nyambane

Veteran comic Walter Mong’are best known by his alias Nyambane also amassed fame for his role with Redykyulass.

Wlater, is most known for his dexterous imitation of late former president Daniel Moi.

The ex-comedian is now a deputy director in youth programs presidency and cabinet affairs office in the Government of Kenya.

JB Masanduku

Veteran comic JB Masanduku commands a chequered past.

The comedian lost a BBC radio job in 2014 amid battling anxiety and depression subsequent from separating from ex-wife Tina Kaggia.

He divulged in an interview with Pulse Kenya that he once blew a million in 3 weeks on alcohol!

JB overcame his alcohol addiction and got married again.

He has continued making sporadic appearances on Churchill show.

KJ

John Kiarie, a third of Redykyulas is someone we haven’t heard from in a minute.

John ran for a political seat twice; in 2013 where he lost and fell back to comedy and in 2017.

In his second shot, he successfully clinched the seat and serves as an MP for Dagoretti South.

KJ seems to have put a hiatus to his comedic antics and is currently focusing on politics.
