Kenyan Celebrities Console Families And Victims Of The Mandera Attack

In reaction to the Al Shabaab attack that has left 14 people dead, Kenyan celebrities have come out to condemned the heinous act. The attack that took place down in 1 am was confirmed by Mandera County Commissioner Alex Ole Nkoyo.

This happens slightly under three months after the Garissa University Attacks which left 147 people - most of them students - dead.

Citizen TV news anchor Julie Gichuru expressed her sadness after learning of the attack. She tweeted, consoling the families and victims of the attack, assuring them that justice would win in the end.

Controversial blogger Robert Alai expressed concern over the nature of the attack, saying that it seems to be a retaliatory attack.

Legendary gospel rapper Holy Dave wasn't happy about the happening.

"I don't see any rocket science involved in approving sufficient resources to protect the Kenya Somalia porous border! If we can't guarantee security in the most obvious regions then what about all the other regions?," he argued.

"Let's not expect any economic growth until we tackle basic things like national security. A reminder to the  Kenyan leadership, 'security is a right, not a favor,' he added. The milk and honey singer participated in the Occupy Harambee Avenue protest  that was aimed at raising alarm over the rising cases of insecurity in the country.
